Pearline Parker, born October 6, 1921, to Walter and Florence Dowdy, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 6, 2013.
Pearline worked as a Dietitian and Social Worker for Stark County Job and Family Services for many years. She had a thing for helping people and never met a stranger. Her continued dedication kept her a faithful member of Union Baptist Church until her health prevented it. You'd often find her out in her garden growing only the best, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to can and preserve it before the autumn season could set in. When she was not doing that, she was busy spending time with her beloved family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband James T. Parker whom she had spent 58 glorious years with, both parent Florence and Walter Dowdy Sr., sisters Anna Dowdy, Mabel Warren, Othella Gibson, Francis Branch and Emma Fisher as well as brothers William and Walter Dowdy Jr.
Left to cherish her sweet memories are daughters Shirley Armstead of Massillon, OH, Jessie (Bob) Stafford of Massillon, OH and Gwendolyn Sissac of Downey, CA, Son-in-law, Mark Armstead of Canton, OH, Sister-in-laws, Fannie Lewis of Forkland, AL, Bernice Benison of Detroit, MI, Georgia Plaskett of Jackson, FL.
