Paul E. Taliferro of Canton, Ohio was the sixth son of the late Ethel Woodford Taliferro and James Albert Taliferro, Sr., and the grandson of Martha Coleman Woodford, was born January 5, 1955, at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania. After a lengthy illness he transitioned to eternal peace on December 5, 2021, at the Glenwood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Canton, Ohio.

Paul grew up in Crestmont (Willow Grove), Pennsylvania and received his formal education in the Abington School District, graduating  from Abington High School in 1965. Growing up in Crestmont Paul lived in a family-oriented community where everyone knew who you were and knew your family. For Paul it was a rewarding environment living in a community with many family members, friends and Paul being the "baby" brother—surrounded daily by his older brothers and so many cousins, as well as living in an extended family that included his grandmother, Martha Woodford, who in numerous ways had a major influence on his life.

Throughout his working years in the Willow Grove area, that also included Philadelphia, Paul worked numerous jobs and was a good repair person, painter, and landscaper. At times life was good and unfortunately, there were also periods in his life that were challenging and sometimes overwhelming. Seeking to improve his life and lifestyle,  he moved to Canton, Ohio in 1996, with the support of his cousins—Ernie Woodford, a contractor and Dr. Fran Dorsey, a professor at Kent State University—both of whom were also originally from Crestmont. The cousins worked with Paul to get him acclimated to Northeast Ohio, where he excelled at times collaborating with contractors and for himself as a landscaper and repair person.

At his best---Paul was a good-hearted and kind man—who easily made friends and at times would become a surrogate father/grandfather to the children of the families who knew him well. Once you got to know him---he became a friend for life.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, James & Ethel Taliferro; brothers--James, Charles, Thomas, Robert, & Percy; daughter—Shontea Nicole Bell.

Paul leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Tracey Young; first cousin Dr. Francis E. Dorsey for being a caring cousin during Paul's long period of illness and for keeping the family informed; nieces, Diane Taliferro & Shelly Briggs; nephew, Percy Taliferro; sister-in-law, Beatrice Taliferro; Special Friends—Kolita Eskew (children Zaunia & Zamarr), Vonda Armstead, Salema Johnson; the Coleman Family and a host of other relatives and friends.
