Pastor Olee
(Kinlow) Nucklos
April 25, 1926 – August 11, 2023
Olee (Kinlow) Nucklos was born in rural Arkansas to William and Louise Kinlow on April 25, 1926. She was the eldest daughter of 12 children. Olee was called Honey, Mama, Granny, Mother, Pastor, Soul Winner, and Friend. No matter how you knew her, To Know her was To Love Her. Olee was a person of Faith, Strength, and Perseverance.
Like many others in the Deep South Oleewanted more for herself and children. She and her husband Elder Lee Nucklos would make the Great Migration to Ohio with 3 small children in the 1950s. Olee would make Canton, Ohio her home for the next 72 years. Although she was denied a High School education, she understood the value of "Getting Your Lesson." She encouraged each of her children to reach their highest potential. All four of her children obtained their bachelor's degree and some even obtained their Doctorate and Medical Degrees.
Olee enjoyed spending time with her family. The Holidays were no exception. Dinner was served promptly at 3:00 pm and everyone was encouraged to "Help Yourself." No Holiday was right unless you got to enjoy one of her Apple or Sweet Potato pies. Each year she would make more than a dozen pies and they would be gone in a few short days.
Olee would often say "I never met a stranger" which was the epitome of who she was to her core. Olee was a wise woman of God that understood the importance of Holiness. After the death of her husband, Olee was later installed as Pastor of Pentecostal Temple COGIC. She served as Pastor for nearly two decades.
Olee was regal in appearance. Her fine personal qualities, high moral principles and ideals made her stand out in the crowd. Olee loved a beautiful hat, sharp pair of shoes and a matching handbag.
Olee traveled across the country, made friends near and far, mothered her "babies" born of her and those adopted. However, it was her relationship with God that she cherished the most. Even, when memories faded and she would listen more than talk, one thing was certain God is Good and the Word was etched in her Heart. Olee earned her crown on August 11, 2023
Olee Nucklos was preceded in death by her husband, Rev Lee Nucklos and son, Rev. Dr. William W. Nucklos (Shirley deceased). She is survived by her daughters: Rosie Nucklos Doughty, Ruby Nucklos, and Patricia Nucklos; one sister, Marzella Campbell; one brother: Thomas Leon Kinlow; grands: Alexis Allen, Tuere Nucklos, Nia "Dudder" Nucklos Daniel (Success), Tiombe Nucklos O'Rourke (Kenneth), Khari Nucklos and Quran Nucklos; and great/great grands; Pentecostal Temple COGIC family and a host of nieces and nephews.
