On October 28, 2021, Ossie Avon McMillan Jr. went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family.  Born September 9, 1946 in Akron, Ohio to the late Ossie A. McMillan Sr. and Juanita Spencer.

Ossie attended Akron Public Schools before serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  He graduated from Hammel Business College with an Associate Degree in Computer Science. After he retired from Aetna Insurance Company, he took a special interest in gardening.  He would spend hours in the yard grooming his shrubbery and his special rose bushes and he also loved spending time with his dog Max.

In addition to his parents, Ossie is preceded in death by his sister Karen Grant.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved lifetime friend and companion Cheryl Nurse; daughter, Maria Blackmon of Atlanta, Georgia; sister, Cheryl (Chester) Singletary of Akron, Ohio; brothers, Lamont (Sharon) McMillan of   Atlanta, Georgia, Gary (Jerilyn) Dix of Akron, Ohio(2) grandsons, Ronnel (Tinika) Blackmon of Atlanta, Georgia, Ryan Blackman of Los Angeles,  California; (2) granddaughters, Karli Blackmon-Long, of Atlanta, Georgia, Allison Brake of Akron, Ohio; (5) great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
