Orlando "Duke" Street's Obituary

Orlando "Duke" Street, 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025. Born on May 22, 1954, in Akron, he was the son of Wanda (Blair) Tyner and Lucius Street, and a proud graduate of Garfield High School.

Duke lived life with a free spirit and a quiet strength. He knew the challenges, yet he carried a gentle soul that remained unchanged by hardship. A man of few words but deep understanding, he moved through life with kindness, humility, and a resilient heart. His journey led him down many roads — both figuratively and literally, finding purpose and peace behind the wheel as a truck driver.

Duke leaves behind a loving legacy through his daughter Orlanda "Landa" (Orion) Welch of Lompoc, CA; granddaughters Omani (Noel) Welch-Blanco of San Diego, CA, and O'Jinae (Corwin) Welch-Franklin of Austin, TX; grandsons Orion Welch, Jr. and Oreil Welch, both of Lompoc, CA; and his great-grandson Nico Blanco of San Diego, CA. He is also survived by his sisters Mary J. (William) Bolton of Cincinnati, OH; Regina Gainer of Akron, OH; and Alison "Punken" Campbell of Columbus, OH; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Duke was preceded in death by his mother Wanda, his sisters Jacqueline Ray, Denise "Neece" Wright, and his nephew Russell Carter.

He will be forever remembered as a soft-spoken man with a good heart and an unmistakable spirit. His story lives on through the family who loved him deeply.
