Omar D.
Mccorvey
October 18, 1979 – December 3, 2023
Omar "Dink Dink" "Dinky" Demitrius McCorvey, 44, named after his great-grandfather Omar Alexander, passed away on December 3, 2023, in his hometown, Akron Ohio. He was born the oldest of five children to Fredrick Hayes and Grace McCorvey on October 18, 1979. Tommie Stone acted as Omar's father, helping him become the man we all know and love today. Omar was a true "family man". He made family his top priority no matter the circumstance. He was loved for his devotion along with his ability to build connections. Growing up, he served as a father figure to his younger siblings, making sure they went to school, looked presentable, and were set for success. He even gave his sister Danielle away to her husband Jolvon at their wedding. As he got older, he carried his supportive role with him. Not only was he an amazing father to his children but he also took others in and treated them as his own, ensuring they never went without. He strongly believed no child should ever be left behind. Words used to describe Omar include gregarious, quick-witted, generous, kind-hearted, and outspoken. He truly was the life of the party. Though he was often late to them, you could always rely on him to show up and let it be known that the real party didn't start until he did. He loved cracking jokes and playing a good prank. He would also light up your smoke to talk smack, always out of love. He was very hard-working, working multiple jobs to ensure his family was secure. He was described as one of the most respectable and reliable staff members at J Osby's Cleaning Services and has been honored by his staff members at Wendy's for his dedication as a manager of the establishment. When he had free time, he enjoyed watching WWE and supporting his favorite football team the Cincinnati Bengals. Omar was preceded in death by his parents Fredrick Hayes and Grace McCorvey. Left to cherish his life are his son Orion McCorvey, daughters Omari McCorvey, Jordyn McCorvey, and Victoria Ellis, and children he helped raise as his own, Desire and Diyasia Vargas. He also leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Harold Wright and Malvin McCorvey, his sisters Danielle McCorvey/Osby and India Shelton, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
