Omajean Buchanan, 84, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on July 5, 2024.

Omajean was born on September 8, 1939 to Eugene & Hattie Wells in Gilmore, Arkansas.  In 1959 Omajean married James Buchanan in Akron, OH.  The two of them were married for 28 years. Omajean and Jimmy went on to have two children, Shirley & David.

In 2007, after a lifetime spent in service to others, Omajean retired and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the South Main and later Bath Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and enjoyed the company of her friends from those congregations.

Omajean was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brothers Eugene Jr, George, Ulysses (Eddie), and Bobby, and by her sisters Edith (Sue), Senorla, and Patricia.

She is survived by her sisters Yvonne and Helen, brothers LV (Lonnie), Alfonso, Ghais F. Askia, Tommy, Larry, and Michael (Helen), daughter Shirley, son David (Susan), granddaughters Jeneane, Heather (Austin), Morgan, grandson Anthony (Emily), great-granddaughters Jada and Magdelena, great-grandsons David, Colyn, and Kadyn.

Omajean was a loyal and loving sister, mother and grandmother. While we mourn her loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering.
