Norman L. Austin was born February 17, 1950, in Canton, Ohio to George Austin Jr. and Mary Lou Austin. He was a graduate of Canton McKinley High school and was known as "Stormin Norman". He served in the U.S. Navy and was a devoted member of his church and was a Deacon. Deacon Austin loved the lord and was a dedicated Deacon to Light of Christ Church. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Norman. He enjoyed fishing and family gatherings. He enjoyed listening to jazz and was an avid sports fan. He had an uncanny ability to find happiness in his daily activities. Norman's outgoing personality was contagious to everyone he met. He will always be remembered as Stormin Norman. He met and fell in love with Sherlene Owens on November 28, 2001. Norman was a beloved father to Kimberly Austin, Donnetta Kennard, Davon Owens and Tracey Jackson; grandchildren, Tiffany Austin, Rayvon (Omar) Lewis, Donnetta Jackson and Sherlene Jackson. Norman has 11 great-grandchildren. Norman is preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, Kensalow Austin. He leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Michael Austin of Texas, and Darrel Austin; brother-in-law, Ralph Owens; special cousins, Wallace and Lovie Hailey; sister-in-law, Sophia Austin; nieces, Kea and Sharita Austin, Patsy Ann Anthony and Renee Salter, all of Canton, Ohio; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
