Nick Nashawn Clay, age 52, of Akron, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on March 19th, 2026, leaving behind a family and community who loved him deeply. He was born on December 7th, 1973 in Akron, Ohio to Cheyenne Judy Dickens and John "Nick" Henry Wilder. Nick was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, partner,uncle , friend, and barber. He was known for his strength, quiet resilience, and the way he carried so much on his own while still showing love and support to others. People left His Barber Chair looking amazing and feeling new! His passing came as a shock to many, as he privately faced health challenges he chose not to share. In his own way, he carried his burdens quietly, always putting others before himself. While we wish we had more time and understanding, we honor his strength and the life he lived. Family meant everything to him. He leaves behind his child and step children, Nickerra Williams, Nickya Williams, and Tajmila Williams, and his grandchildren, Ava Williams, Lea Williams, Daylen Williams, Kylan Melton, Khylo Melton, Carti'a Williams, and Cartel Dardie. He leaves behind his life long partner of 30 years, Tyreece Williams. Also leaves behind his siblings Olin Clay, Ranae Clay, Shea Harris, Lodrick Harris, and Anthony Clay, Ishmael LeGarde And a handful of friends he grew up with who he loved like brothers. He is preceded in death by Cheyenne Judy Dickens, John Henry (Nick)Wilder, and Leola Johnson. Nick will be remembered for his humor, wisdom, and generosity. He had a unique ability to make others feel valued and understood. and the lasting impact he made on everyone who knew him. The memories Nick created will forever be cherished. His spirit lives on in the stories shared and the lessons imparted. His presence, love, and lessons will forever live on through his family and so many others. A service to celebrate his life will be held on [Date] at 10:00am at Glendale Cemetery. The family kindly asks for prayers, love, and support as they navigate this difficult loss. In honor of Nick, we also encourage everyone to check on their loved ones and take care of their health—both seen and unseen. Nick Nashawn Clay will be deeply missed, but never forgotten, always in our hearts , minds and soul. His life, though cut short, was a testament to the profound impact one soul can have on many.
