Obituary

Nannie B. Ingol was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 4, 2016, at the age of 93.  She was born on November 17, 1922, in Newark, Ohio.  Nannie was family orient, the patriate of her family and a community activist. Prior to her death she was instrumental in getting the Union at Barberton Citizens Hospital, she was the first president of local 2317 and held the position for twenty years until she retired from the hospital.  She also helped to organize and setup the free clinic in Barberton.  She was vice president of the executive board of the Ohio counsel Inc. ( AFLCIO) ; President of South Barberton Improvement Inc., Executive Board member and trustee of the Neighborhood Conservative Services of Barberton (NCS). She was instrumental in implementing the new community housing in south Barberton.  She was one of the representives who went to Washington D.C. to obtain a housing grant for the Neighborhood Housing and Developmental Services.  She was a member of the NAACP.  She was an executive board member of the United Way and Barberton YMCA. Nannie left a legacy of community involvement, compassion, and immediation.  She was proceeded in death by her husband Clarence, son Edward Ingol, three sisters Jessie Lee Cheatham, Marjorie Butler, Zular Mae Burton, brothers Claude and Herman Vaughn.  She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Lillian Vaughn. She leaves to cherish her memories, son Chaplin/ Captain Charles T.  Jeletalora Melissa) Brown of Ocean Side, California, daughters Loretta Neloms of Columbus ,Ohio, Lillian ( Maurice) Bishop, Gloria Diana ( Cleo) Gregory, Malinda Ingol, and Candace Hooks, all of Barberton. Brothers, James (Al) and Raymond (Ruth) Vaughn both of Barberton. Sister in laws, Ola Mae Washington of Akron, Pricilla (Harvey) Cameron, and Nellie Ingol of Barberton.  21 grandchildren, 3 adopted grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, 43great-greatgrandchildren, 10 great-great-great grand, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Special friends, Lizzie Fagins, Evelyn Fennell, and Dorothy Ulrich. Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 12 p.m. at Rhoden Memorial Home 1101 Palmetto Ave. Akron, Ohio 44306. Family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Paul Watson, eulogizing and interment will be held at Lakewood Cemetery. Procession will form and condolences can be sent to 366 Joseph Street, Barberton, Ohio 44203
