Monica M Halsell 60 years old passed away on December 2, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic Hospital surrounded by loving family and friends. Monica was a lifetime resident of Akron, Ohio.  She graduated from East High School in 1981. Monica worked at Mueller Electric for many years, then moved on to work at Wal Mart in Fairlawn Ohio for over 10 years where she became a supervisor until 2020. She was member of Mt Haven Missionary Baptist church under the pastorship of Pastor Derwood F Lockett, where she worked diligently as his personal nurse. She later joined the membership of Greater Bethel Baptist Church under the pastorship of the late Pastor Melford J Elliot where she also worked diligently on the Nurse's Guild.

Anyone who knew Monica knew she loved of all the babies. She was "Maw Maw" to everyone's kid. Monica loved to travel to Michigan and Mississippi every chance she could to visit her family.  Also she was an avid Cleveland Cavs and Browns fan.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Curtis and Alice Burton, her brother Markus Burton and Brother-in-law Juan Franklin.

Monica leaves to forever cherish her memory daughters, Tamika Halsell (Shirone), Tamera Halsell, LeMonica Baity, Nevaeh Mitchell, Sherry Drummond Armani Moss. Sons, Demetrius (Tiana) Halsell, Adrian Halsell and Howard Burris. Brothers Dorlan Fedrick, Curtis Burton. Sisters Janice Franklin, Pamela Gibson, Min Meredythe Henderson, Rev Alice Terry, Tamika Clardy. Best Friend/Sister of 57 years Kimberly Beavers, Grandchildren, Alonie, Marlon, Alonzo, Te-Kiya, Era'Nyah and Elijah. Great grandchildren Ariya, Tylen, Journei, Kaylani and Trey jr. She also had a host of God children. Special mother Ann Burros and the entire Burros family. Sister-in-LawAnita Burton, Special Nephew/Son Myron (Tina) Burton. Nephews Markus (Nicole) Burton, Tommy (Liza) Burton, Tyrell (Rae) Burton and Jonathan Fedrick. Nieces Brittany Toles, Juanese Franklin, Paris Glass, LaChelle (Dierre) Id-Deen, Shanique Henderson. Son in law Eric Brunson, Daughter in law Dymond Turner. Special cousins Peggy DuBose, Roderick Gardner, Charlie Martin and Cynthia Mancill, John McClelland, Pam Yarbrough, Rosemary Johnson. Special friends Authur Halsell and Cleveland Maye along with a host of other family and friends.
