Minus Jenkins was born in Sanford, Florida on October 13, 1928 to his parents Abraham and Gertrude Jenkins.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Adger Jenkins; parents, Abraham and Gertrude Jenkins; sisters, Ora Mae Culver, Rosetta Jenkins, Ethelena Calloway, and Lula Mae Jenkins; brothers, Tommie, Bradley, Abraham Jr., and Lonnie Jenkins; special friend, Lucille Carlton.

He is survived by his sons, Tommie L. (Kim) Jenkins of Akron, OH and D'Angelo Brown of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Glenda (Jimmie) Keaton and Deborah Jenkins both of Akron, OH; brother, Norman Jenkins of Germany; sisters, Maeretha Shephard and Maetta Butts both of Sanford FL; special granddaughters, Twanna Askew, and Marcia (Mark) Edwards; special great granddaughters, Dorothy Askew and Kloe Maxwell; and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
