With loving memories and grateful hearts, we celebrate the life of Mildred Mendoza, who touched countless lives through faith, service, and love for family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, church member, educator, and friend whose kindness and wisdom will never be forgotten.
Mildred enjoyed many simple pleasures in life. She loved reading, working crossword puzzles, baking zucchini bread, and watching movies, especially The Ten Commandments. She also enjoyed football and basketball, traveling, and spending time ministering to others.
Mildred held several board positions at Bryant Elementary, notably serving as PTA president. She also taught at First Born Seminary and Training School in Waycross, Georgia for 10 years. She faithfully worked for United Disabilities for nearly 30 years, where she impacted many lives through her compassion and commitment.
A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted member of Hill’s Temple for most of her adult life, serving in various positions within the church and community. Her life reflected service, love, and steadfast devotion to God and family.
In 1950, she married the love of her life, Phillip Mendoza Sr.. To this union, which lasted 76 years, four children were born, and together they built a legacy rooted in love, faith, and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, along with her grandson- Gregory (Bumpy) Tubbs.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Phillip Sr.; her children, Lucinda (Tom), Quanita, Crystal (Rodney), and Phillip Jr. (Sheryl); 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her special niece, Vicki Nelson, and a wide circle of extended family and dear friends who were lucky enough to know her.
Her legacy of faith, service, strength, and love will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
