Mildred I. Garner was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 7, 2016, at Aultman Hospital after an extended illness. She's now in the presence of God and her two sons, Allen and Kevin Garner, along with a host of other relatives and friends. Mildred was born March 11, 1928 to the late Joe and Ethel Ledsinger in Choate, Illinois. She was a 1946 graduate of Joppa Community High School in Joppa, Illinois. As a young woman and full of adventure she relocated to Canton, Ohio. Here's where she made a home and began a family of her own. Mildred was employed by the Diebold Company for many years, and worked there until she retired. She was a member of Union Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Sherman Martin, Jr. Mildred had a a passion and that passion was cooking,and she was good at it. She was known for her delicious cakes, cookies, and assorted desserts, and everyone talked about them and her great cooking. Mildred loved unconditionally, this was obvious with her family members and people that was near and dear to her. Preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ethel Ledsinger; sons, Allen and Kevin Garner; grandson, Kevin Garner; (3) sisters, Pauline Warfield, Viola Ster, and Nola Hicks; (3) brothers, Earl, Roy and Percy Ledsinger. She leaves to cherish her memories (2) sons, Terrence (Jenny) House of Silver Spring, MD, Gregory Garner of Las Vegas, NV; (2) sisters, LaQue Scott of Indianapolis, IL, Margaret Renfro of Springfrield, IL; granddaughters she raised, Darcell and Madison Garner; grandchildren, Allen and Ebony Garner, Jarvis Burton, Zachary and Cyrus House, Megan and Olivia Garner; (9) great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Mildred will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
