Michael J "Blue" Cosey, of Akron passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024.

Blue was born to the late Winnie Cosey and Hamilton Boykin on June 29, 1953. He was a cherished individual known for his kind, loving, caring, and humorous personality.  Blue was an avid Steelers fan who loved music, blue tops, and his family. To know him is to love him.

Blue is proceeded in death by Mother Winnie Cosey, Father Hamilton Boykin, and daughter Shanisha Hooks.  He is survived by his children Shawn Craig Sr., Sherhonda Hooks, Sharkeya (Antonio) Portis, Shamese (Whitney) Maddox all of Akron, Ohio; Siblings Morris (Dorothy) Cosey of Akron, Doreen Blackwell of Akron, Kimberly Mitchell of Spring, Texas, Kenneth (Dionne) Cosey of Spring, Texas, and Betsy Cosey of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren Shaquanna Hooks, Devonta Hooks, Deandre Hooks, Jamarvion  Hooks, Shawn Craig Jr., Shamari Maddox and Sanaa Maddox Antonio L. Portis, and Anthony Portis; great grandchildren Emerik Hooks, Ry'Lee Williams, and Zaire Craig; and a host of family and friends.
