Michael, affectionately called The Flea, departed this life Friday, December 5, 2014. He was born February 20, 1951 to Henry Cook Carter and Ada Mae (Ruffin) Carter in Troy, Alabama.
Michael attended Canton City Schools and worked at a Naval Base in Sacramento, CA., but he answered his calling for helping others as a physical therapist and a nursing assistant for many years. His warm smile would light up a room and his combination of professionalism and true warmth and compassion was felt by all he cared for. Michael loved to travel and has resided in California, the State of Washington, Oklahoma and Ohio. His love for music was expressed as he played many instruments and he loved to sing. He also enjoyed sports especially fishing. Despite having many hobbies and interest his love and passion for his family superseded everything.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers Daniel Carter and Travis (Poppa) Carter.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory to his children; Shantel (Jimmy) Bradley, Tony L. Carter, Stephen P. Carter, and Adam L. Carter, thirteen grandchildren and four great– grandchildren, siblings; Patricia (Frank) Penn, Gary Carter, and Ronald Carter, a multitude of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Michael was always pleasant, outgoing and he never met a stranger, to know him is to love him, and he was loved by all and will deeply be missed.
