Melvin “Mac” McDonald, Sr.

Melvin “Mac” McDonald, Sr. was born in New Mexico on July 16, 1953, to his parents, Ruby and Vester McDonald. Melvin eventually moved to Texas, where he began his life as a proud soldier and started building his family. His journey later brought him to Canton, Ohio, where he married the love of his life, Delivia McDonald.

His love for the open road continued throughout his life as an over-the-road truck driver. His travels took him to many places, where he met people, built friendships, and collected plenty of stories along the way.

When Melvin wasn’t behind the wheel, he enjoyed a good game of pool, loved bowling, and enjoyed a strong whiskey when it was time to relax. He was also known for his famous chicken spaghetti, a family favorite that could make everybody’s mouth water just thinking about it!

And if you knew Melvin, you knew one thing for sure—that man could tell a story! Wherever he went, he had a story to share, and there was always a way of turning an ordinary moment into something people would remember. His humor, personality, and unforgettable stories made him one of a kind.

Melvin leaves behind his beloved wife, Delivia; his siblings; his children and stepchildren; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended family; fellow soldiers; and many friends near and far.

His life was filled with love, family, service, hard work, laughter, good food, and plenty of stories. While he may no longer be here to tell them, those who loved him will carry his stories, his laughter, and his spirit with them for years to come.
