Melodee Renee Higgins was born on July 21, 1958 and went home to be with the Lord on February 11, 2018. Melodee was a lifetime resident of this community. She was as member of Faith Temple Church of the Living God, and had been employed as a psychiatric aide at Broadview Psychiatric Institution until her retirement in the 1990's. She continued to work as a home supervisor for Hope Homes Inc. over the next few years until she resigned to help raise her grandchildren. Melodee is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Willie Mae Higgins; brother, Thomas Higgins; aunt and uncle, Emme Jean (Wesley) Salmon; grandchildren, John Owens, Eryc Ahmir Higgins and Antoinne Z. Higgins. Melodee is survived by her lifelong partner, James A. Miller; children, Gregory (Samantha) Higgins, Eric Higgins, Robert Higgins, and Natasha Miller-Higgins; brother, Steven Higgins; sisters, Kimberly Belfield, Allyson (Anthony) Hollings all of Akron, Ohio; special friends, Sheryl Averitte, Veronica Hargrove and Marjorie McKinstry and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
