MayBell B. McGowan, 83 was born on October 21, 1933 in Shubuta, Mississippi and departed this life on December 6, 2016 at Fairlawn Rehab Nursing Center after a long illness. She was a member of Garden of Prayer Church of God in Christ. She was a private nurse in California for many years. Mrs. McGowan was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Johnson and son, Johnny McGowan. She is survived by her loving children, Howard (Vera), Ernest (Camille) McGowan; sisters, Bernice Cross of Jackson, Florida, and Jessie (Ray) Johnson of Jackson Mississippi; brother, Clarence Cooley of Laurel, Mississippi; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren with two on the way, her extended family and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
