Mattie Clyde Snell, 86 years old, of Canton, Ohio passed away on May 31, 2022 at St. Luke's Lutheran Community of North Canton.  Born on November 2, 1935 in Brundidge, Alabama to the late Willie Oscar and Pearl Terry Davenport, she married Beathell Snell on May 13, 1953.

Mattie worked several part time jobs throughout her life from the cotton fields to owning Beathell's Bar and Lounge.  She truly had a heart of gold.  Everyone always said she was "such a sweet lady". Her favorite saying was "God don't make no mistakes, but it sure does hurt!"

In addition to her parents, Mattie is preceded in death by her husband; son, Eathell Snell; sister, Eva Lou (James) Wheeler; brothers, Earl and Oscar Davenport; and son-in-law, Ed Johnson.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Johnson; son, Tony (Bernetta) Snell; brothers, Willie (Nysheka) Davenport of Georgia and Cepatrick (Maxine) Pearson of Alabama; grandchildren, Edward Johnson,   Mitchell Bryant, Alanni Harrell-Snell, Toniema Snell, and Anthony J. Snell; great grandson, Jayden D. Onusic.
