Mattie B. Floyd was born in Petrey, Alabama on January 2, 1942.  She was the third child born to parents Earsie Lee and Ernest Tom Pitts Sr.  Mattie departed this life on September 25, 2021 after a brief illness.

Mattie me Christ and accepted Him as her Savior at an early age.  She received her formal education in Helicon High School in Grady, Alabama.

Mattie is preceded in death by her first husband Garland Floyd; second husband, Fredinand Arthur Jr; father, Ernest Tom Pitts Sr.; mother, Earsie Lee Pitts; brother, Willie James Pitts; sister, Ola Bell Stroud; daughter, Joyce Elaine Pitts; niece, Mary Helen Coleman.

Mattie leaves to cherish her memories to one brother, Ernest Tom Pitts Jr.; daughter, Jean Pitts; stepdaughter, Virginia Banks; stepson, Clark Floyd; grandchildren, Shawn and Shawonda Stroud; very special nieces, Mary SamanthaColeman, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
