Mary Julia Grant,105, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Mary was born December 25,1918 to the late Samuel and Lillie Rice in Milledgeville, Georgia. The family moved to Akron, Ohio in1930 when Mary was 12 years old.

Mary was married March 23, 1942, to Earl Taylor Grant and they had one son Eric Winston Grant. Mary and Earl enjoyed 60+ years of marriage until Earl's passing. Mary's relationship to God was very important to her and was a member at Grace Cathedral. Mary lived a very active lifestyle and enjoyed walking the parks and neighborhoods of Akron. When Mary's husband was close to retirement, they purchased a Dry Cleaners at 1239 Diagonal Rd and worked side by side there.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Earl Grant; brother Wendell Rice; sisters, Ophelia Parms, Louise Howard, Frankie Payne and Clifford Beatrice Price.

She is survived by son, Eric W Grant; sister, Lillie Mae Brown; grandson, Dierre Maurice Grant; great-grandson, Christopher Grant; four great- great-grandchildren nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
