Mary Rose Fisher, age 75, transitioned peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2014 of natural causes. Mary was born August 31, 1939, in Canton, Ohio to the late Isaiah and Viola Whitehurst. Mary attended Allen Elementary School and McKinley High School. In 1958, Mary married the love of her life, the late Robert F. Fisher. In addition to raising their three children; Roderick, Myra and Craig, Mary worked at Canton Urban League for more than 20 years. Family and friends were Mary's passion and delight. She loved to host and entertain and frequently had family gatherings at her house. Mary enjoyed many hobbies such as sewing, crafting and fishing. Proceeded in death, brother William Whitehurst, sisters Jean Edwards, Juanita Young and Inez Capitol. She leaves to cherish her 3 children Roderick Fisher, Myra Abdus-Saboor (Bill) and Craig Fisher. Nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great, great grandchild. She also leaves behind brothers: Robert Whitehurst, David Whitehurst (Carol), Paul Whitehurst (Virgie), Alvin Whitehurst, sister: Lois Whitehurst and numerous loving relatives and friends.
