Mary D. Hill Betts Bennett, age 79, has gained her heavenly wings. Mary was born to the late Alf (Alfred Sr.) and Mary Underwood-Hill on February 22, 1942 in Brent, Alabama.

Mary was affectionately known as Momma, Granny, Aunt Mary, or Aunt Noochie.  Mary was a faithful servant of the Lord up until her health prevented her from attending her home church, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she was baptized in the name of the Lord and Holy Spirit.  Mary served as an usher of the church and performed within it's choir.  Mary was willing to help with any endeavor whether it was helping her church, family, or friends.

Mary was a devoted person to family hosting all kinds of festivities at her home for all to enjoy.  At Mary's request, last month a family gathering  was put together, where everyone who came had a wonderful time.  She was all smiles watching her family enjoy themselves.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bennett; sons, Lorenzo and Samuel Betts; grandchildren, Niyorah Stokes and LaRijah Bennett; brothers, Jesse Hill, RC Hill Sr., AC Hill, Joe Hill, Bobby Hill, Theodis Hill, Arthur Hill,  Alfred Hill Jr., Davis Hill, and Bobby Roy Hill; sisters, Delee Hill, Elnora Evans, and Ludelia Gulley.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories to her faithful and loving companion, John "Flip" Brantley; children, Robin (Clem) Webber, Bobby Joe Betts Sr., Melinda Betts, Nicole Bennett, Riley Bennet, Roxanne Bennett, Cynthia Bennett, and Joshua Bennett; brother, Jesse "Sug" Hill; (21) grandchildren; (56) great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild on the way; daughter-in-law, Jacqualyn Betts ; special and dear friend, Mrs. Ollie Belle Cutler, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
