Marilyn Mitchem was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. She went home to be with the Lord after fighting an illness for a brief time. She was the second to the last of eight children. Marilyn was a Nurse for over 30 years.

She later preceded to excel in all aspects of Health Education earning multiple certificates in her profession. Marilyn loved smiling, cooking, sewing and singing in her home church where she was an active member of the Usher Board.

She was a loving mom, daughter, friend and woman. No one could resist her big, pretty and infectious smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ines and Albert Mitchem, brothers, James, Tim and Paul Mitchem

Marilyn leaves to cherish her precious memories, brothers, Peter (Billie Jean), and Phillip Mitchem; sisters, Carolyn Blackmon and Burnadette Mitchem; daughters, Lakresha (Joe Butts) and Lanitra Mitchem; grandchildren, Shaunte Trammel, DeAnthony Mitchem (Khadijah Scott); and great grandchildren, Darone Paul, Anthony, Kaidence and DreSean Mitchem; and a host of other relatives and friends.
