Marilyn was born on Tuesday, March 15th, 1955, one half of a set of twins (Carolyn) to Joseph and Virginia Bailey in Akron Ohio.
Marilyn attended Schumacher Elementary, Simon Perkins Jr. High and graduated from Buchtel High School in 1973.
In 1976 Marilyn married Curtis Lamont Brooks Sr. To this Union, Curtis Lamont Brooks Jr. (Monty) was born in 1977. After the untimely death of Curtis, Sr. Marilyn met and married John Henry Hale Jr. in 1983 and they relocated from Akron to Atlanta Georgia.
For 40 years, Marilyn and Johnnie shared a close-knit family life that included a shared love of fishing, gardening, cooking together, trips to Savannah and Hilton Head and hosting family and friends.
Marilyn loved people and never met a stranger. Marilyn owned a charming shop called Unique Treasures for many years before retiring from the business in 2022.
Marilyn is survived by husband John Hale, sons, Lamont (Monty), John III(Sean), and Lance. Also left to grieve her passing are her mother, Virginia Bailey, brothers; Joseph (Audrey), Richard (Linda) and sisters Sheila, Carolyn McGrady (Lander) and Barbara She also leave to mourn her passing, loving and faithful mother-in-Law, Olive Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, cousins, and close friends.
Rest in Heaven Marilyn until we meet again…
