Marie V. Gulley, 79, transitioned from her earthly home to heavenly home on September 17, 2015. She was born on December 24, 1935 to her parents, George Sr. and Nettie Hammett.  She was a faithful and dedicated member of Prince of Peace Baptist Church. Marie loved the Lord and her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Nettie Hammett; sisters, Julia Wert, Georgia Mosley, and Annette Rumph; brothers, John, James, and Edward Hammett. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband, Judge L. Gulley; children, Lanetta Scales of Copley, OH and Jena Miller of Atlanta, GA, Leonard (Karen) of Dayton, OH, Lamarr (Karen) Gulley of Powder Springs, GA; brother, George W. Hammett of Hattiesburg, MS; sister, Margaret Cornelius both of Akron, OH; fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other loving relatives and friends. Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 12 noon at Prince of Peace Baptist Church 844 Garth Ave Akron, Ohio 44320. Family will recieve friends from 11 a.m. until time of service. Rev. Robert Golson, Officiating. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery.
