Mariah Annette Sims was born February 2, 1963, in Isola, Mississippi to the late Mark Sims and Gloria Sims Prigmore.

She was a longtime resident of Akron, Ohio and graduated from North High School in 1981. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of the choir as well as the choir director. Mariah was also a foster parent and enjoyed drawing, making crafts, and listening to scary movies, but not actually watching them because she was scared, but then grew out of it. Mariah was the life of the party and enjoyed dancing and hanging out with the "ettes"- Paulette, Nannette, and Shelette.

Mariah was preceded in death by her parents, Mark Sims and Gloria Sims Prigmore; her son, Victor Varner II; grandparents, Mariah Lake and Sam Murry; brother, Branton Prigmore; uncle, Willie Murry Sr. (Dorothy-deceased), and aunt, Ramell Murry.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son Raeshawn; brothers, Terrell Prigmore and Quintin (Kelly) Prigmore of Akron; sisters, Oneida (Willie-deceased) Edgerson, Ramell Clinton, Melissa Prigmore, Cordelia (Terry) Scott and Onshawn Cunningham all of Akron, Ohio, Cynthia Lela Sims of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren, Christin, Sy'Riyah, Solomon, and Syierre; aunt, Maxine Cobbin; nephews, Mark Minter, Billy Clinton of Phoenix, AZ and Toriano Clinton, Brian Hicks, Montell and Quintin Prigmore; nieces, Ta'tiana Davis, Cordelia Prigmore, Neala Harris, Ot’Tyanna Townsend as well as a host of relatives and friends.
