Margaret Rose
Jones
March 1, 1937 – December 8, 2025
Margaret Rose Jones was called home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2025, at 1:08 PM, following a sudden illness. Margaret leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Jessie Wright, Shelia Wright, Margo Avery, John Avery. She was a devoted grandmother to Raymont Coleman, Jaren Wright, Shelia King, Gary Lindell King Jr., Denzell Faulk, Roger Faulk Jr. She is also survived by her beloved granddaughter, Saprina Allen, one sister, Mary Hatcher, a host of nieces and nephews, six great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a very special lifelong friend, Barb Harper. In their younger years, Margaret and Barb were inseparable—sharing holidays, card parties, laughter, and countless memories. In later years, they remained closely connected through phone calls, photos, letters, and cards. The family chose Faith City Alliance as the location for Margaret's Celebration of Life, as it was the last church she attended before her passing. She was a faithful member for many years at New Zion Baptist Church, and later became a member of Feed My Sheep Ministries until she was no longer able to attend due to her inability to drive. Margaret was a sweet and gentle soul who loved her family deeply. While she loved all of her grandchildren dearly, she shared a particularly special bond with her oldest granddaughter. She worked faithfully at The Alliance Review until she was forced to retire early due to a brain mass that required surgery, which left her disabled and unable to work. Margaret loved traveling with her sisters and often jokingly referred to herself as the "third wheel" on many trips. Their travels included visits to Norton, Virginia, and the Kentucky family reunions, until she was no longer physically able to travel. She played a major role in helping to raise her grandchildren, always giving of herself with love and devotion. She enjoyed watching Family Feud, and faithfully followed her favorite soap operas—General Hospital, The Edge of Night, All My Children, and Ryan's Hope—continuing to watch General Hospital until her final days. Margaret was well known for her apple pound cakes during the holidays and her famous sweet potato casserole, which became cherished family traditions. Her memory will live on forever through the many lives she touched with kindness, strength, laughter, and love. Everyone affectionately referred to her as "Ms Rose," and she was also known for her grace, style, and classy way of dressing. She was deeply loved, and she will be forever missed.
