Margaret Henderson, 93, was born on November 4, 1932 in Hollandale, MS to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ed and Carlene Jenkins. She relocated to Canton, OH. She was a hard-working mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She gave 17 yrs of service to Blairs in Downtown Canton. She also worked in the local Timken Mercy Hospital.

She was a great woman. She was very kind, and caring woman. She was liked by all. She always had a smile on her face. She loved her family. She advised them to “Keep their hands in God’s hands!” She joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church in 1967. She loved the Lord!

She enjoyed traveling. She did not like to stay at home or indoors. She loved shopping with nieces Shirley McCail, Vivian Ball, Denise “Damon” Hammond, great niece Tracy Williamson, and going to bingo games with her great niece Sandra “Larry” Bell, nephew Dante Jenkins, and great nephew Robert Robinson Jr. She also liked eating out at her favorite restaurant Olive Garden. She would also frequent the Casino with her niece Louella “John” Hawkins and great niece Judy Richardson. She was a good cook. Her turkey dressing could be found at the table during the holidays. She kept in touch with her cousin Annie “Andrew” Johnson, nephews CB “Valerie” Fields, Rufus Jenkins, Eddie Fields, Eddie Fields Jr, Tommy “Linda” Jenkins, Mark Jenkins, Dennis Jenkins, Jim “Aida” Fields, Shawn Fields and Ed Lee Newell, Tanya “Charles” Burke, Tammara Cox, Sherrice Fields, Ella Newell, Vania Ndoma-Egba, Talena Robinson -nieces. She stayed on the phone with the family.

Margaret enjoyed serving the community as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary in GA. She helped raise money for veterans, and she advocated for their cause. She wrote letters to the President of USA, and Senators so that her voice could be heard. She volunteered her time.

Margaret leaves to cherish her memory Thelma Gillespie, Daughter, and Grand Children Marcia Gillespie, and Damon “Jeannie” Gillespie. Rev. Lewis Jenkins, Brother resides in Canton, OH. She was preceeded in death by George Henderson, Husband, Tyrone Henderson, Stepson, and Aretha Jenkins, Niece.  Siblings; Bessie Fields, Robert Jenkins, Eliza Neal, and Annie Hamilton. The late Velma Fields, Rosie Newell, Shirley Cross nieces, Johnny Fields, Frank Fields, and Robert Robinson Sr – nephews. Stepchildren/Family; Deborah “Paul” Burt, Rosetta “Stanley” Gardner, Kimberly “Earl” McVay, and Dane Henderson, special niece Patricia Henderson, special friends Lena “Walter” Tucker, Jessye N, Kim V, Betty B, Bernice S, Naomi W, Mia T of Atlanta, Ga. and a  host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
