Margaret Davis-Evans, also known as Safiyyah Muhammad, passed away on May 14, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born February 16, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, Margaret attended Akron public school. She was very talented with her drawings, which was passed down to her oldest son Harlan Davis. She also loved to sing and to sew. In her early 20's she married the late William X Evans and converted into the Islamic Faith, and then moved to Youngstown, Ohio where she carried her loving heart and became a caregiver for a private home of 6 elderly patients.
Margaret is preceded in death by her late husband William X Evans; parents, Luther J. Davis (Moby) and Ollie Cox-Davis; daughter, Tynetta Evans; son, Yusuf A. Evans; sister, Sylvia Davis, and brother, Darie "Petes" Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Darlene Davis-Kirkland and Deby Davis; sons, Harlan Davis, Carl Davis, Wali Davis, Wallace "Will" Evans, and Theodore "Theo" Evans; sisters, Sylvon Davis, LaVerne Davis, Sharon Davis, Sheryle Davis-McIntosh, Phillis (Rev. Kenneth) Davis- Butler, Alice (Larry) Davis-Morgan, Renee Davis, April Davis, and Tracy Hardy of Maryland; brothers, Martin Latson and Bernard (Cynthia) Davis both of Akron, Ohio; special friend, Sister Aaliyah Fareed of Youngstown, Ohio; good friend, Debra Spencer of Youngstown, Ohio as well as a host of special nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, extended family, and many longtime friends in Akron and Youngstown.
