Obituary

Mother Maple Lee Thompson, 88 transitioned Monday, September 5, 2022.

Maple Lee Thompson was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School; Home of The Bulldogs, and was an avid Lover of all sports. She worked at Mercy Medical Hospital as a Candy Striper. She was head cook at Hartford Junior High School.

Maple Lee Thompson met the Love of her life in Church, Sampson Lee Thompson and they later formed an everlasting union. She was baptized in Jesus Name and was filled with the Holy Ghost in 1974. She served as a dedicated Deacons Wife, and was a faithful member of Sunday school, The Women's Auxiliary (Missionary), The Food Pantry Give Away, And the Head Cook of the GBAC Dining Hall for (20+ years).  Her cooking consisted of Conventions, District Meetings, Councils, Northern District Young People's Union, Revivals, Funerals, and a Host of Families and Friends. Mother Thompson had to step away from her gift to care for Her Husband.

Maple Lee Thompson was born April 4, 1934 in Opelika, AL to her parents who are deceased, Kaora McClendon (Mother) Willie B. Dysick (Biological Father), and (Her Dad) Joseph McClendon;  also preceded in death her Loving Husband Deacon Sampson L. Thompson, and her Wonderful Son-In-Love, Gary Lee Robinson. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Adrienne Y. (Bonnie) Robinson, Annette M. (Tone) Thompson, Anita Y. (Nita) Thompson, and her Precious Son Sampson L. (Billie Jo) Thompson; grandchildren, Justin (Alisha)Robinson, Sylvia Mayle, Ryan (Erika) Thompson, Shavon Robinson, and Kayla Thompson all of Canton; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, LaSha', Braylyn, Armoni, Ivy, London, Kai Madden and Koa Reese God Children Dr. Angela Matthews, and Crystal Matthews Pirolozzi both of Rockledge, Florida  God Grandchildren Eric, Mari, Webster, Ashley, Audree, Trae  Alston;  Special Daughters Thea Holling, Ericha Brown, Kim Henderson, and Tammy Williams and host of Saints Relatives and Friends.  Mother Thompson had a Special Friend Mother Alice Milini & Prayer Partner Sis. Mary Smith.
