Mamie L.
Davis
August 14, 1942 – December 27, 2024
Mamie L Davis went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2024, after a short Illness.
Mamie was born on August 17, 1942 in Montezuma Georgia to the union of Bennie Haslam, Sr. and Mattie Haslam(Grant)
Mamie was a 1961 graduate of the former South High School where she actively attended sporting and social events with friends and family.
In later years, Mamie enjoyed shopping. She loved buying shoes and maintained a large collection of shoes in various styles and to fit any and every occasion. Mamie was known to throw away pound cakes which she thought fell short of her abilities. She was indeed a baking perfectionist.
On holidays, her home was always open to anyone who wanted to eat. She was the ultimate hostess and no one was ever a stranger. There was always a seat at the table and a plate to take home. This included family, friends and friends of her children.
Mamie's greatest joy came from spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There was never a Christmas or birthday where they weren't showered with gifts.
On November 3, 1961, Mamie married her first and only love, J.D. Davis. They remained married until his passing on August 15, 1993.
