October 8, 1989 – February 6, 2026
Malcolm Queen, born on October 8, 1989, in Annapolis, Maryland, was called from a life of labor to a reward of rest in accordance with God's will on February 6, 2026. Affectionately known as "Smiley", Malcolm always had a big smile on his face and brightened the days of those around him.
As a young child, he attended Akron Public Schools and would cut grass, rake leaves, and shovel snow for his elderly neighbors. In his younger years, Malcolm played for Kenmore Cardinals Little League Football team and his team won three championships during his time on the team. Malcolm was employed by Freedom Bloc, where he learned exceptional people skills and put them to use to better the surrounding Akron community, which led to acknowledgement and awards for his efforts.
Malcolm is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harrison and Nancy Barnes; paternal grandmother Elizabeth Queen; uncle, Harrison Barnes III; brothers, Antonio Queen Jr. and Antoine Queen.
Malcolm is survived and missed by his loving parents, Schante Barnes and Antonio Queen Sr., along with his children he loved dearly La'Nyiah Queen and Owen Queen. he is also survived by his siblings, Desiree Barnes, Andrea Queen, Michael Queen, Anjarea Queen, Jamar Queen, Danaja Hawkins, Toni Hawkins, La'Diamond Queen, and Aaliyah Queen, best friends, Thomas Watson, and Shatora Johnson, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, extended relatives, and friends.
Malcolm will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
