Obituary

Magnolia (Cook) Crockett was born August 15, 1922 to Willie Norman and Louise (Ike) Cook in Indianola, Mississippi.

On March 11, 1939 Magnolia was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Johnnie B. Crockett.  They made their home in Mashulaville, Mississippi and later relocated to Alliance, Ohio.  Together they had seven children that led to a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Magnolia was devoted to her family and viewed her family as her reason for life.  She loved cooking for her family and it showed.  Every time anyone came to visit, she would always tell you to come in the kitchen and make a plate. She was well known for her homemade rolls, fried fish, sweet potato pie, lemon meringue pie, and so much more.  Not only did she love cooking but she also loved reading the bible and sharing the word with her family and friends.  Magnolia accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at a young age.  She loved the Lord and was an avid student of His Word.  Her heart's desire was for everyone to know the God she served.  She was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church for more than 70 years where she served as a Deaconess.  She also served in several ministries including Pastor Aid, Baptional Drapery Committee and the choir.

She was one of twelve children.  She is preceded in death by her husband Johnnie B. Crockett, her sons Sammie George Crockett, Willie James Crockett and Johnnie Joe Crockett, her brothers Payton Cook, Tommie Lee Rice, Willie James Cook, and David Cook, Issac Cook and her sisters, Eleyse "Nig" (Cook) Gillispie, Willie Mae  Houston, Laura Dell Draper, Louretha Cook and Henrine Tippett.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her children Willa Florence (Crockett) Jones, John Frank Crockett, Patricia (Crockett) Harrell and Donald Crockett, along with her only surviving brother,  John Edward Cook and her 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and a host of great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
