Lucinda
Watkins
April 29, 1932 – August 27, 2016
Our beloved Lucinda Watkins, went home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2016 after a long illness. Lucinda, known to her loved one's as "Cindy Lu", was born on April 29, 1932 in Barberton, Ohio to her parents, JC and Lucy Williams. She was a dedicated employee for over 30 years to the Brecksville Veterans Administration from where she retired. Cindy devoted her life to the Lord at a young age and was a faithful member of Living for Christ Ministries for more than 20 years. Cindy enjoyed card parties, a good game of bingo, and an exciting day at the racetrack, but her all-time favorite was watching a good ole Cavs game with her friends in the lobby of Callis Towers! She was known for hosting the best birthday parties and making her famous linguini pasta salad! Cindy was truly the life of the party and she will be cherished forever. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Watkins; daughter, Carol Wilkerson; grandson, Demetrius Wilkerson; brothers, Rudolph and Robert Williams; sisters, Lucille and Lillie Williams and Thelma (Melvin) Glass; niece, Betty (Oliver) Pearson. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Denise (Gregory) Davis of Uniontown, OH; sons, Kevin (Rochelle) Watkins of Naperville, IL and Gerald Watkins of Akron, OH; brothers, James and Samuel Williams of Akron, OH; grandchildren, Kevin (Melanie) Watkins Jr. of Baltimore, MD; devoted granddaughter, Candice (Anthony) Sams Jr., of Akron, OH, Joseph (Ashley) Moore of New York and Jalen Watkins of Naperville, IL; special nieces, Pastor Deniela and Waynetta Williams of Akron, OH; special great nephew, Richard (Wendy) Richardson of Aurora, CO; special friend, Lurlene Brooks of Akron, OH; she also leaves behind a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family and friends too numerous to list, but she loved all of them with all of her heart.
All condolences and offerings of love may be sent to 607 Hollibaugh Ave. Akron, Ohio 44310.
