Louise Croston Smith passed away on February 17, 2023, in Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital.  She was born in Zanesville, Ohio and lived in Canton, Ohio for 74 years.  She had been a member of Valley Chapel Brethren in Christ church.  She was a homemaker until she went to work at Canton Iron in 1968.  She retired from Canton Mallerable in 1989.

Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Russell, Sr.; sons, Russell Jr. and Charles Eddie; stepson, Rickey Burley; grandson, Scott; her parents, Dewey and Claire Croston; 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

She is survived by her devoted brother, Leroy "Jimmy" (Venus) Croston of Canton, Ohio; sisters, Evelyn Weatherspoon and Juanita  Croston of Zanesville, Ohio; daughters-in-law, Ruth Smith of Columbus, Ohio and Wanda   Burley of Youngstown, Ohio; daughter that she never had, Allison Goshay; granddaughters, Ricquita (Darnell) Townsend, Stacy (Deon) Amos, Nakecha (Harvey) Lewis, Kaleah (Kenny) Batch, Christian (Drew) Holcomb, Audrey (Patrick) Blair and Janet Holloman; grandsons, Andrew, Charles, Jr., and Richard (Mayra) Burley; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
