Lillian Ray
Watson
October 25, 1937 – September 20, 2023
Lillian was one of eight children of Ben and Iris Stewart. She was happy, funny and healthy during her entire life. Lillian was born in New Boston, Texas; but spent much of her life in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she met and married the late, Pink William Watson; and to that union, had one son, Anthony "The Hero" Watson. She worked in the retail industry, traveled and managed several areas.
Lillian was one of the first Black women buyers for Froug's Department Store. Lillian moved to Canton, Ohio soon after the death of her late husband, to join her son and family. There, she would live the rest of her life. This is not a sad day as now she sleeps peacefully. We'll miss her always, but wish her a pleasant, joyful journey.
Lillian is survived by her only son, Anthony W. Watson, Sr., and daughter-n-law, Victoria; three grandsons, Tony Jr., Michael and Bryant; step grandson, Kenneth; great grandsons, Deshawn, Chris, Brandon, Devin, Jayden and Isaiah; great granddaughters, Adeleine, Zara and Naia; great-great grandson, August; as well as a long list of other family and friends that she loved dearly.
"Mothers"
Mothers: Believe in us more than we believe in ourselves, do more for us than they do for themselves, worry about us more than we realize, pray for us more than we'll ever know, value us more than anything else in the world, give us more than they can afford, love us more than anyone else can, matter more than words can express!
