Leonard "Fruit"
Johnson
March 24, 1953 – May 12, 2025
Our Heavenly Father, in his infinite mercy and grace, called home his beloved child Leonard "Fruit" Johnson on May 12, 2025. Leonard was changed from corruptible into incorruptible through his faith in our Savior Jesus Christ.
Leonard was born on March 24, 1953, to his late, loving parents, Ella Dean Edwards and Fletcher Johnson in Barberton, Ohio. He was the apple of his mother's eye and shared a love of fishing with his father.
Leonard was a proud Barberton, Ohio native, from Lake Ann to Snyder Town he loved his Barberton roots.
Leonard attended Galilee Baptist Church, but in his later years was a member of House of Prayer for All People and attended as his health permitted.
Leonard loved his family and bragged about their successes. He was his family's historian and that to many other families.
Leonard was a wonderful cook. He made delicious cheesecakes, pound cakes, and loved cooking and barbequing for family and friends. You haven't eaten unless you've had his fried ribs and cabbage.
Professionally, Leonard worked as a general contractor, truck driver and before his illness, a contract truck delivery driver hauling the U.S. Mail. Leonard was a jack of all trades. If there was money to be made, he was going to make it.
Leonard was preceded in death by his wonderful mother, Ella Dean Edwards; loving father, Fletcher Johnson; his beautiful daughter, Latoka Wise; loving and talented brother, Jerome Scott; and his handsome nephew, Jerrold Scott, Jr.
Leonard leaves a legacy of love with his loving, devoted wife, Natalie Johnson; sister, Teresa (Donald) Winston; brothers, Jerrold (Lisa) Scott; Jeffrey Scott and Stephan Kite; grandson, Isaiah Martin; bonus daughter, Jonna Davis and Jasmine Burks; bonus grandchildren, Aria, Gilan, Rain, Jae 'Shawn, Makhi and Bryson; God children, Douglas Cloud, Fredrianna Cloud and Dominic Cloud; sisters-in-law, Michele Rhodes, Robyn Jackson, Laurie (Jason) Ludwig and Christina Rhodes (Tom Mocarski); brother-in-law, Cecil (Tierra) Rhodes, ll; best friends, Fred Cloud, Rev. Kenneth Freeman, Russell Cooper, Sr. and Dan Milliron; and a host of many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
