Mr. Leon R. Wright was born February 24, 1941 in Canton, Ohio.  A son of Sadie Johnson and Freeman Wright, Sr. Leon graduated from McKinley High School and went on to serve in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1962 and was formerly employed with the Railroad. Leon accepted Christ at an early age and was a member and grew up at Peoples Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor William Cotton. Leon loved life and people. He would do anything to help you. He loved elderly people and helped in many ways. Mr. Wright entered eternal rest on September 16, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters,   Ethel Mae Jones, Vera May Wright; brothers, Oliver, Roy, Thomas H., Oscar and Pastor Eugene Wright. He leaves to cherish his memory his ; son, DeJuan Wright (Frances Whatley); step-son, Albert  Nicholson; (2) step-daughters, Lisa Williams and Sarah Nicholson; brother, Freeman Wright, Jr.; sisters, Rosie Blair Mack, Carol Williamson, Thomas Harris of Canton, Ohio; (14) grandchildren; special devoted nephew, Roy Jones; special friend, Anne Laster; cousin, Vera Simms as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
