Lent E.
Allen Jr.
June 3, 1932 – November 22, 2021
Lent Edward Allen was born to the late Lent E. Allen Sr and Mattie Coleman on June 3rd, 1932, in Clarksdale, MS. He peacefully went to his heavenly home on November 22nd, 2021. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Denver, CO during his active service. Following his military service, he was employed at Eaton Manufacturing Company where he worked for many years before retiring as a foreman.
Lent gave his life to Christ on November 25th, 1979, and dedicated his life to serving as well as helping God's people for many years. He was called to preach the gospel shortly after in True Church House of Prayer to All Nations in Massillon, OH. He was a licensed minister by the late Bishop Ike Woods Jr. In addition to being a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, District YPU (Young People's Union) President, Church Treasurer, while fulfilling his final call as an Elder. He enjoyed fishing and handyman work in his spare time while serving the Lord. During his retirement he continued serving as a philanthropist, donating time and resources to many organizations that recognized him with several awards.
In addition to his parents, Lent is preceded in death by his wife Trudy; (4) sisters, Lillie, Bertha, Ida, Elizabeth; (2) brothers, Clarence, and Elijah; great nephew, Terry.
He is survived by: (2) daughters, Dorothy Williams and Helen (Percival) Hye; his dear niece, Brenda Allen; great niece, April Allen, and great nephew , Charles Allen, assisted with the care of their Uncle Lent dedicating their time to ensure that he was taken care of to the very end. He also leaves to cherish a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will hold the memory of the great man he was close in their hearts.
