Lehman D. Redding was born to Isaac Redding and Ruby Wooten on August 26, 1934 in Kinston, North Carolina. He spent most of his adult years in Canton, Ohio.
Lehman was employed by the Timken Roller Bearing Company where he retired after 34 years. He was a Korean War Veteran, and an active member of Union Baptist Church.
He loved Mckinley High School sports and was a faithful fan and season ticket holder for more than 30 years.
Lehman was an avid bowler and a member of the The Greater Canton "Thursday Afternoon" Bowling League. He enjoyed many travels throughout the U.S. and abroad with his wife Gayle and sometimes family and close friends. Lehman attended and enjoyed many civic and social events throughout Stark County.
Lehman Redding is preceded in death by his father, Isaac Redding; parents, Ruby (Lester) Hicks; brother, Leslie A. Hicks; nephew, Leslie Durrell Smith; and brother-in-law, Alvin Cunningham.
Lehman Redding was married to Gayle P. Redding for 50 years. Lehman and Gayle have 2 children, Daphne and Lester Redding, both of Canton, Ohio; and one grandson, Nigel T. Redding of Hampton, Virginia. He has two sisters, Barbara Rivers, of Cleveland, Ohio and Rubie Lockett of Akron, Ohio; three sisters-in-law, Carol (Willie "Herman" ) Smith of Canton, Ohio, Lorraine( Frank) Bibby of Monroe, Louisiana, and Chris Smith of Canton, Ohio.
