Leevandis Hicks went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2018, at the blessed age of 91.  He was born in Summerland, MS and was a long time resident of the Akron community.  Leevandis retired from the Ohio Operating Engineers and was honorably discharged from the Unites States Army. Preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings, he leaves to cherish his loving memory, wife, Elaine; son, Charles (Joyce) Hicks, daughters, Ruby (Charles) Bibby, Delores (William) Jones and Kimberly (David) Burney; brothers, William, Lee Ander and Harvester Hicks; sisters, Winnie Durham and Darlene Withers; 11 grandchildren and of host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Homegoing service will be held Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Rhoden Memorial Home, 1101 Palmetto Ave., Akron, OH 44306.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M at the funeral home until time of service.
