Kelley D. Turner's Obituary

Kelley D. Turner, 56 passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Born on January 28, 1968 in Pell, Alabama, she was the beloved daughter of Annie and John Timothy Reese, and beloved stepdaughter to Donald James, all of whom preceded her in death. Kelley spent most of her childhood in Akron Ohio, she attended Margaret Park Elementary, Innes Jr. High, and graduated from Kenmore High School. Kelley's life was full of dedication to her family, friends, and community. Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew her.

She spent her life nurturing others, supporting her community, and touching the lives of countless people who were blessed to know her. Kelley's family meant everything to her, and she was the rock that held them together, offering love, and guidance whenever it was needed.

Kelley was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who always put her family first, ensuring that they felt her endless love and support. She is survived by her cherished children, Destini and Grant Turner Jr, and her beloved grandchildren, Aaliyah and Amirion, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her brother Kendrick Woods, sister, Kimbley Towers, niece Miracle Towers, nephew Brad Harris, Amanda Jackson affectionately known as Aunt Boonie, uncles Melvin and Irvin Jackson, best friend Yolanda (Ronnie) Clay, second mom Joyce Manley, sisters Lisha Lincoln Evans and Stacy Lincoln, ex-husband Grant Turner Sr. (Paezle), and a long list of other family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Kelley was very connected in the Akron community, she worked for many years at the University of Akron as an administrative assistant with the Upward Bound Program. She also dedicated her time to the City of Akron working at Ed Davis Community Center, where she continued her passion for serving and uplifting others and where she continued to be a positive force in her community. Kelley's warmth, patience, and generosity left a lasting impact on those she worked with, many of whom saw her as not just a coworker but also as a friend.

Through her work, she often helped guide young students, encouraging them to pursue higher education and achieve their dreams.

Known for her kind heart and generous spirit, Kelley was a friend to all. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was always there to offer encouragement and support. Whether through a smile, a kind word, or a warm embrace, Kelley made sure everyone around her felt valued and loved. But please understand, if you needed to be put in your place, she would not hesitate to do that too.  Because of her love for her family, Kelley planned game nights, a gathering where friends and family could always count on good food, good conversation, laughter, and unconditional love.

Kelley will be remembered as someone who lived life with purpose, grace, and a commitment to those she loved. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but her  kindness, service, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her. She touched so many lives, her presence will be missed deeply, but her spirit will remain with us always. She will be missed, not just by her family and close friends but by the many people whose lives she touched. Kelley's legacy of love, service, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will forever be remembered.
