Katie Mae Heard, 91 slipped into her eternal life on May 21, 2017 in the comfort of her home. Mrs. Heard was born on February 22, 1926 in St. Clairsville, Ohio the first born of seven to the union of Charles Brown and Rebie Perkins Brown. She attended Youngstown Public Schools and worked as a housekeeper for private families. Katie loved flowers, she was always in her garden and yard. A pet lover of all animals whether purchased or stray. She will be deeply missed. Kay was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Louise, Dorothy, Augustine, Charles, Clyde Peyton;  sons, Robert "Bobby" and Michael Brown; grandson, Robert Darnell; former husbands, William Heard and Eddie Williams.

Kay leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughter, Rebie LaVerne Brown-Smith and son, Daryl Heard both of Akron, Ohio; Godson, Derak Williams of Akron, Ohio; sister, Jean Springs of Youngstown, Ohio; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren; extended family, Betty Williams and children; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
