Kathleen Thompson peacefully transitioned from this life on May 26, 2025, at McKinley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Canton, Ohio. She was born on January 26, 1953, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Robert Lee Waters Sr. and Hattie Mae Waters.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, her only son Richard Wright Jr. whom she loved and affectionately called "Junior", one grandson, and one great-grandson Jeremiah Willson. Two brothers Robert lee Waters Jr, Thomas Lee Waters and infant brother. One sister Bobbie Ann Waters.
Kathleen spent a number of years in Columbus, Ohio, where she had a working career in the health care felid at the Heritage House. after returning to Canton, she continued her work in healthcare field until her health wouldn't allow her to continue.
Kathy enjoyed her family, listening to old songs and playing a good game of Bid Whiz.
Kathy leaves to cherish her memory 5 granddaughters, Sideny, Esther Wilson, Ryanna Ray, Nija Wright, Artaesha Wright. 8 grandsons Nicholas Cutright, Jodeci Wright, Richard Wright III, Chance Wright, Jermaine Barrino, Marcel Barrino Avery Blake & Aaden Vernon. 18 Great grand Children. seven sisters, Rosa McNair, Waliyahwajidajh Quadir (twin sister) Lorene Malone, Carrie Waters, Carol Hunter, and Betty Jean Waters, all of Canton, Ohio; and Rosaline (Nathaniel) Stoudmire of Massillon, Ohio, two brothers: Ronnie L. Waters of Columbus, Ohio, and Matthew Waters of Carrollton, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family of Kathleen Thompson would like to thank everyone for their acts of kindness. Special thanks to the caregivers of McKinley Health Care for taking care of Ms. Kathy (Mamma, as some of you called her). You cared for her with compassion & love, and we say THANK YOU! To Rhoden Memorial Home for your caring service & professionalism. We ask that you keep our family uplifted in prayer. Kathy's legacy of love, compassion, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew and loved her.
