Joyce Ann Thompson, 63, (Mariah) was called home on March 23, 2017 at Barberton Citizens Hospital. She was born in Hazelhurst, MS, on September 8, 1953. Joyce was a loving mother who was devoted to her family. She was a loving employee of Barberton Manor Care for many years. She loved going to bingo or even the simple pleasure of playing slots with her friends. She was preceded in death by the late Julia Mae Major (Mr. Zack) and Freddy King; long time companion, Lonnie (Crockett) Keys; brother, Lenroy Byrd. She is survived by sons, Rapheal Thompson Sr., and Keye Thompson Sr., both of Barberton, Ohio; daughters, Shenitha Thompson and Joy Thompson of Akron, Ohio; sister, Mary Ann Thompson of Barberton, Ohio; brother, James Byrd of Chicago, IL; 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; special friends, Wanda Askew-Chambers, LeAnn Smith, Dana Hargrove, Donna Rodriguez; special daughter, Marcee Powell and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
