Joyce Marie Pruitt Massey Allen, age 82, went home to be with the Lord after an extended illness. Joyce was born to James and Nettie Pruitt of Laurel Mississippi. Joyce moved to Ohio at an early age. After moving from Waynesburg to Canton, Joyce worked multiple jobs. She loved cooking, reading, pressing hair, taking care of her family, and doing many different crafts of which knitting and crocheting was at the top of the list. Joyce was preceded in death by her father, James Pruitt, mother, Nettie Pruitt, husband, James "Dick" Massey, sons Leon "Guy" And Maccelius "Max" Massey, great granddaughter, Sajen Massey, great grandsons Royal Massey and Bryson Barksdale Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories her sister, May Joyce Washington of Laurel, Mississippi, her sister in laws, Donna Massey of Canton and Pearla ( Mack) McClendon of Massillon, brother in law William (Nadine) Massey of Canton, three daughters, Shenetha Wright, Sonya Freeman, and Joy Massey all of Canton, five sons, James "Ray" Massey Sr., Preston Massey Sr., Charles (Gloria) Massey, Michael Massey Sr., and William "Gerrell" Massey all of Canton, stepson, Patrick (Lisa) Allen of Canton, granddaughters, Keva (Shon) Moore, Katisha Massey, Myka Massey, Virginia Massey, Shae'Omonte (Vince) Gatlin, Kaitlin Massey, Myra Davenport, Yahnisha Steel, Adriauna Hofacre, Makala Hofacre, and Kashmae Hofacre all of Canton, Erica Massey of Pennsylvania, Ohio, grandsons Donte "Snap" Massey of Malvern, Ohio, Deray Massey of Alliance, James R. Massey Jr., James O. Massey Sr., Jeremy Massey, Leon Massey Jr., Deon Massey, Chavez Massey, Shawn Massey, William Massey Jr., Ga'Quinn Massey, Vodrick Freeman Sr., Corey Sullivan Sr., Preston Massey Jr., Amarion Massey, Morgan Massey, Michael Massey Jr., Joshua Massey Jr. all of Canton, fifty five great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
