Joyce Elaine Thompson

Joyce Elaine Thompson, 81  of Summit, MS passed peacefully in Canton, OH on July 01, 2026.

She was surrounded by family.

Joyce was born April 21, 1945 in Pike County, MS to Joe Louis Washington and Gladys

Jennings both of whom preceded her in death. One sister, Doris Jacques of Summit, MS and a

brother, Julius Washington of Washington, D.C. who preceded her in death.

Joyce was known for her love for singing gospel and listening to gospel music. She was an avid

reader, loved crossword puzzles and enjoyed sewing from time to time.

We couldn’t have asked for a better mother. Her warmth, laughter and unconditional love will be

missed everyday. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Joyce was united in holy matrimony to Charles Thompson. She leaves to cherish her many

memories, one son: Antonio Thompson of San Diego, CA and three daughters, Cynthia

Landrew of Canton, OH and Chiquita Wells of San Antonio, TX, and Tiffany Thompson who

preceded her in death. Six grandchildren and two great - grandchildren. Her many nephews and

nieces; other relatives and friends.
