Joshua Michael Smothers, Sr.'s Obituary

Joshua Michael Smothers Sr., Forever 38

Born on Dec 7, 1987 In Canton Ohio, to Joyce Williams and Eddie James Smothers. Josh went to be with the Lord on Dec 18, 2025. He has been reunited with his beloved niece, Ja'mehia Smothers "Mooka" and grandfather Michael Shaw. Josh graduated from McKinley High School in 2006 . He dedicated himself to his career in trucking, showing great accomplishment and skill when achieving his Hazmats. Josh lived life to the fullest. He was fearless and loved a challenge. Josh enjoyed riding sports bike with his brother and going state to state on his motorcycle with his club brothers and sisters. He loved his Dodge hellcat and spent more time washing it than driving it. He enjoyed taking trips with his friends and loved the warm weather. He was saving to move to Arizona where his brother resides, he was meant to be where the sun is always shining. Josh often enjoyed meeting his father, Dave and friends at Harmon's Pub. He enjoyed fishing, and being outdoors with his best furry friend Ace "big baby". One of Josh's love languages was cooking. With his true culinary gift he created edible masterpieces, flavored to perfection. If he loved you, he fed you, and you'd never taste food better than his. He was a man that set goals and challenged himself, strived for more, and shared his wisdom with the ones around him; he wanted to see everyone win and enjoy life. Josh was dedicated to God, his family, and work. Josh attended Faith Family Church and was always seeking growth in his relationship with God. Josh had a way with embracing life's challenges and discomfort and always walking in his purpose. He had an exuberant and manly presence about himself, always patient, always had self control and provided love, stability, structure, and encouragement to the ones he loved and the ones who were blessed in his company. He took great pride in his son Josh Jr. and his recent accomplishments, graduating HighSchool and going to the Navy. Josh was very social, very friendly, very personable. He was the kind of person who could easily introduce himself, learn a person, and make your relationship personable. Josh was calming, strong, and consistent, making his impact with children foundational. Josh created a safe and positive place for people to be. Josh is survived by his beloved grandmother Sharon Shaw, mother and father Joyce and David Williams Sr., stepmother and father Lisa and Eddie James Smothers, fiancé Keri Myers, son's Joshua Jr "Pig" and Peyton Smothers and daughter Capri Carroll "his girly face". Brothers-David Williams Jr. and Daeshune Smothers, Sisters-Alee, Angie, Manndy, and Kaylee Williams, AziaRae, Tatyana, and Cierra Smothers.
